17th International IATEFL Poland Conference
Łódź, 19-21 September 2008
Dear colleagues,
The organising committee have pleasure in inviting you to the 17th International IATEFL Poland Conference to be held at the University of Lodz between 19 and 21 September 2008. The conference languages are English and Polish, the latter meant to encourage the participation of teachers of languages other than English.
This year's conference title will be devoted to: NEW AGE, NEW IDEAS, NEW APPROACHES.
The topics of the conference include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Problems of Polish teachers teaching a foreign language abroad
- The teacher's role in preparing students to learn and work abroad
- Distance teaching and learning
- Challenges of teaching a foreign language to students with physical disabilities or speech impediments.
All teachers are welcome at the conference and they will:
- find out about recent trends in foreign language teaching
- acquire new teaching techniques
- participate in workshops
- receive unique, photocopiable teaching materials
- receive free textbooks, exercises and other materials as well as unique gadgets
- establish contacts with schools from Poland and abroad
- share experiences with foreign language teachers from various European countries
- learn about teacher trainings in Poland and abroad
- meet the authors of textbooks and renowned in Europe specialists in foreign language teaching methodology face-to-face
- have the opportunity to present their experiences by means of submitting a paper or offering to run workshops
